This programme enables students to be provided with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the rapidly growing arena of computer science; its applications and technologies. The curriculum consists of courses developed from latest advances in computer science and technology including software, applications, networking technologies and standards, databases and IT Security applicable to business and industry needs.

For each trimester, the core contents of the syllabus are subject to 20% alteration with the purpose of incorporating new developments and changes in technology into the subjects. The 4-year programme aims to provide in-depth understanding on the principles of softwares, databases and networking systems as well as the key operational and technical aspects that are necessary for current applications, thus enabling students to absorb the fundamental concepts of computing and borderless computer systems. Students are thus prepared to master skills such as analysis and design, programming, software building and maintenance of new developments and security of necessary technologies relevant to industry needs.

The Department aims to constantly collaborate with industry advisory partners and stakeholders, such as Microsoft, CISCO, Oracle, and Institute of Information Security to make constructive inputs every year to improve the programme. Generally, industry collaboration provides students with the opportunity to be awarded with professional certificates and knowledge, thus increasing their employability. We aim that our students are guaranteed Industrial placements with top companies every year.

Throughout their studies, students are encouraged to participate in numerous research activities utilizing the university’s research and development laboratories that are equipped with the latest technology devices and computers. A comprehensive networking and wireless networking laboratory is also available specifically for students that have chosen the IT Network path so as to help them garner industry experience in managing diverse network environments. This way, our students are exposed to a wide variety of technology-based platforms and are ready to take on the world.
